DCMI Usage Board met at Cornell in June
The DCMI Usage Board held a meeting at Cornell University on 16-17 June 2003 and is currently finalizing a series of decisions and documents, among which:
- a clarification by Andy Powell of issues related to "structured values" (to be moved through DCMI process as an addition to its guiding principles);
- progress on a formal declaration from Library of Congress that MARC Relator terms refine dc:contributor (and can therefore be used as Element Refinements);
- approval of "still image" and "moving image" as sub-types of "image" in the DCMI Type Vocabulary;
- approval of two new encoding schemes needed for the DCMI Libraries application profile.
The full decisions and related materials will be made available as they are finalized.
