'Using Dublin Core' Usage Guide is now a DCMI Recommendation

The DCMI Directorate is pleased to announce that the new version of "Using Dublin Core™" is now a DCMI Recommendation following the public comment period that ended May 15, 2001. This document is intended to be an entry point for users of Dublin Core™.

For non-specialists, it will assist them in creating simple descriptive records for information resources (for example, electronic documents, JPEG images, video clips). Specialists may find the document a useful point of reference to the documentation of Dublin Core, as it changes and grows.

Linked to the guide, there are examples of generic usage of the core elements and encoding examples of the core elements and qualifiers in HTML. RDF examples will be added in the near future, after work has completed on the DCMI-Architecture deliverable "Expressing Qualified Dublin Core™ in RDF".
