Viviane Hessami

Viviane Frings-Hessami is an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow in the Digital Equity and Digital Transformation group at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. She received her PhD from Monash University in 2000. She has experience teaching information access, information organisation, information and records management and digital preservation, and is General Editor of Archives and Manuscripts. Her research is at the intersection between information science, archival science and ICT for development. She is particularly interested in the cultural differences in the ways people access, manage and preserve information. Her current research, supported by a three-year fellowship from the Australian Research Council, is developing a framework to help rural communities and disadvantaged communities to preserve information in formats that will meet their needs in the short and long terms.
