Building Ground Truth: How Unique Identifiers Enhance AI Accuracy and Reliability

As AI systems increasingly rely on structured and unstructured data to generate responses, the role of unique identifiers (UIDs) has never been more critical. This talk explores how UIDs act as anchors of truth in a landscape often clouded by ambiguity, duplication, and semantic overlap in AI ecosystems. We will examine real-world scenarios where the presence or absence of persistent identifiers significantly affects the precision, reliability, and reproducibility of AI outputs. From knowledge graphs to language models, we will trace how UIDs reduce errors, improve entity resolution, and enhance contextual understanding. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of why UIDs are not just a metadata detail, but a foundational element in the future of trustworthy AI.
