Public Comment on Proposed DCMI Term: Accessibility Note

The DCMI Usage Board is proposing a new DCMI Metadata Terms property, dcterms:accessibilityNote, within a draft Scholarly Resources Application Profile. The property would describe features or deficiencies that improve or hinder a resource’s usability and accessibility for diverse users, including people with disabilities, assistive technologies, alternative formats, and inclusive design choices. The proposal builds on related work from W3C, Schema.org, MARC, IFLA, the European Commission, and other standards bodies. To align with current accessibility thinking, the Usage Board is soliciting public feedback. For thirty days, until 22 February 2026, comments are invited via a GitHub issue or to Usage Board.
