      <description>&lt;p&gt;The DCMI Directorate is pleased to announce that the document &amp;quot;Namespace Policy for the Dublin Core™ Metadata Initiative (DCMI)&amp;quot; is now a DCMI Recommendation. We consider this one of the basic documents necessary for the effective deployment of Dublin Core™ on the Web. This document specifies the conventions used for identifying current and future DCMI namespaces. It gives the URIs for the DCMI namespaces and defines the policy for changes to DCMI terms.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

This working draft was prepared by the Managing Information for e-Government (MIReG) group in conjunction with the DCMI-Government working group. The Working Group behind the working draft thanks everybody who has contributed and commented on the initial proposal. The intention is to submit a proposal to the DCMI Usage Board before the Tokyo Conference. The working group is still interested in comments, as soon as possible.
